Boundless Opportunity Scholarship

The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship® (BOS), established by the Daniels Fund in 2003, is inspired by founder Bill Daniels’ belief that "America remains the greatest nation on Earth, where boundless opportunities still exist for each and every one of us."

The Boundless Opportunity Scholarship (BOS) is administered by the FutureRise Fund. It offers grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 for postsecondary institutions and education and workforce training nonprofits in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming to provide scholarships for students to acquire credentials that lead to employment and living-wage earnings within 6 months of program completion.

Scholarship Details:

  • Scholarships are provided as block grants to institutions and nonprofit organizations, which then award scholarships to student applicants.

  • Scholarships may be applied toward direct expenses including tuition, fees, room and board, as well as indirect expenses such as books, supplies, and transportation/commuting expenses (limited to gas or public transportation).

  • While it is preferable that all funds directly benefit students in the form of scholarships, a maximum of 5% of the grant may be used for recruitment, outreach, communications, and other administrative costs related to selecting and supporting scholarship recipients.

  • No portion of the grant funds may be applied to foundation or management fees.

Who Should Apply:

  • Postsecondary Institutions and nonprofit education and training providers that offer valuable degrees and certificates that lead to in-demand careers in less than two years.

  • Programs must be aligned to the needs of industry, have an 80% graduation rate, an 80% employment rate, and 5-year median wage outcomes of greater than $45,000.

  • Programs must support non-traditional students who have financial need and fall into one of the following categories:
